Hatsumi Soke has been quoted as saying, "The sense of community within the Bujinkan is important".

With that in mind, the Midwest Bujinkan Taikai event was held on August 8-10, 2008. The Dayton Bujinkan Dojo Martial Arts School hosted the free Midwest Taikai Training Seminar for all Bujinkan students to attend. More than 120 people attended the three day event from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, California, & Germany.

Thank you to all the attendees, coordinators, assistant staff, and volunteer instructors for a great event!

Taikai Overview:
Focusing on the Midwest region of the U.S., the Midwest Bujinkan Taikai was an event designed to bring an unprecedented number of Bujinkan students, Shidoshi & Shihan together as a community to share in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu training. Hosted by the Dayton Bujinkan Dojo Martial Arts School, the event was held in a 6000 sq ft, 100+ tatami facility located only minutes from downtown Dayton. Bujinkan Shidoshi & Shihan from around the Midwest offered their guidance and suggestions on multiple aspects of the event's themes.

The event was free to attend and exclusive to students of the Bujinkan. Donation boxes for those interested in donating to the Bujinkan Hombu, the local Red Cross, and/or SpecialOps.org were available. All donations were voluntary and not required to participate in the training.

Stay tuned for information about the 2009 Midwest Bujinkan Tai Kai held somewhere in middle America....
